Sunny the Vampire is part of my new no-sewing Halloween collection called BOWLOWEEN (Bowling + Halloween!): it’s a collection of Halloween characters that work as Bowling pins and the eyeball as Bowling ball.
You can find all the (free) patterns at this link.

HOW TO
This amigurumi is worked from the top to the bottom all in one.
You will begin from the head, decreasing to create the neck and then continuing with the bottom part of the body.
You will stuff the head and then you will finish stuffing part of the body at the end (in the pattern it will be specified when to stuff).
You will make and attach the eyes and the teeth and then you will make and tie the cape as last thing.
You can also add some embroidery for the mouth and buttons.
MATERIAL
I used:
Crochet Hook: 3 mm
Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6, colour n. 089 (Almond) OR colour n. 040 (Light Purple – LP) – 7 gr – (for the skin)
Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6, colour n. 002 (Natural White – NW) – 2 gr (for the shirt)
Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6, colour n. 009 (Black – B) – 3 gr (forhair and trousers) / 3 gr(for the cape)
Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6, colour n. 086 (Christmas Red – CR) – 2 gr (for the cape)
Stitch marker
Stuffing
Darning needle
Felt Eyes: I used white felt in oval shape and then a black marker for the pupil
Pins
Superglue or Fabric Glue for the eyes (optional)
Embroidery thread or thinner yarn for mouth and buttons + sewing needle (optional)
Number in brackets, at the end of each round, indicates the total stitches for the round.
Instruction between * … * means you have to repeat what is between the asterisks by the times indicated after the second asterisk.
Instruction between ( … ) means you have to do all the stitches in the brackets in the same stitch.
You will always find the acronym of the stitch and a number close to it; if the number is before the name of the stitch, it means that you will have to repeat those stitches in the same space. For example: 5 SC = 5 Single Crochet in the same stitch / SC 5 = 5 Single Crochet in the next 5 stitches
Shall we start?
Let’s go!!

Cut an end tail of about 10 cm and follow the video at this link to see how to close an amigurumi.
After you closed the last round, push R21 / R23 inwards so the amigurumi will stay up on its “feet”.
eyes and teeth
I created the eyes with white felt and with a black marker to draw the pupil, then I glued them on the work, so these are the steps if you want to do the same.
Here below you will find the free instructions with no pictures.
If you prefer, there is an ads-free pdf version of this pattern with photos to help you make the vampire step-by-step, eyes included: you can buy it here.
STEP 1 – EYES
On the felt, measure and cut a rectangle of 1.2 cm x 0.7 cm and then round off the corners.
STEP 2 – EYES
Create a black pupil with a marker.
STEP 3 – EYES
Now glue the eyes in position: between R5 and R7 of the headand 2/3 stitches apart, leaving the tuft of hair in the middle
STEP 3 – TEETH
Cut two little triangles from the white felt: you will attach them (later) under the smilingface you created with the embroidery.
EMBROIDERY (optional)
If you would like, you could create the mouth and a couple of buttons.
You can use either embroidery floss/thread or thinner yarn, I did it in black but you can choose any colour you prefer.
In the pdf version of this pattern you will find photos step-by-step to help you make the vampire, embroidery included: you can buy it here.
CAPE
The cape will be created from the bottom to the top and it will be worked in rows (not rounds). The Chain at the end of each row doesn’t count as a stitch.
Here below you will find the free pattern with no pictures.

START
With 3 mm crochet hook and with the colour B, do CH 22.
R1
Starting from the 2nd CH from your hook, SS 21, CH 1, turn (21)
Don’t CH 1 and don’t turn. Fasten off and weave all the ends in.
Cut a piece of 30cm of colour B and, leaving an initial tail of 10/12 cm, insert the yarn with the needle alternating the holes between the stitches between the last black row and the first red row.
Takethe cape and put it around the Vampire keeping the opening on the front (where the face and buttons are). Now tie a bow with the extremities of the black yarn and cut excessive yarn (if any).
And HERE WE ARE: your Sunny the Vampire is done!
